Mid-August checklist:
- Revisit one Odyssey score without reading discourse first
- Open one Brand New Day supporting card
- Rate one older performance so the board isn’t only 2026
- Delete (or edit) any score you can’t defend with a criterion
Hygiene is how a scoreboard stays a scoreboard.
Checklist
Revisit one Odyssey score without reading discourse first. Open one Brand New Day supporting card. Rate one older performance so the board is not only 2026. Edit any score you cannot defend with a criterion.
Why hygiene matters
Mid-summer event movies pull everything toward consensus. Hygiene keeps ActorRating a scoreboard, not a mood ring.
Journal rule
Stories carry heat. News keeps the rules legible. If your number moved because of discourse instead of a scene, put it back.
Why this lives in News
Stories chase the release-week heat — cast carousels, premiere weather, the performance argument people are already having. News is the rulebook: how to read the five criteria, when to edit, what box office cannot tell you.
If this piece felt useful, pick one performance you rated this month and re-open it with one section above in mind. That is how journal rules become scoreboard literacy instead of lecture notes.
