About this performance
Overview
Robert De Niro as James Conway in GoodFellas (1990) gives raters a clear craft target inside the film. On ActorRating, this page is about the acting — not a verdict on the movie as a whole.
Why the score looks this way
The radar lean is clearest in Emotional Range & Depth and Character Believability, where raters tend to reward the performance most consistently. As more detailed ratings arrive, weakest and strongest axes will separate more clearly. Breakdown: Emotional Range & Depth 9.7; Character Believability 9.7; Technical Skill 9.7; Screen Presence 9.7; Chemistry & Interaction 9.7. Use those axes to decide whether the work impresses you for emotional range, believability, technique, screen presence, or chemistry.
Community consensus
Only 2 community ratings have landed so far, so treat the average as an early read rather than a locked verdict. The headline community average is 9.7/10 across Emotional Range & Depth, Character Believability, Technical Skill, Screen Presence, and Chemistry & Interaction. If your rating diverges from the pack, the dimension sliders are the best way to show where you part company.
Notable craft moments
Without spoiling story turns, watch for craft tells: how Robert De Niro uses stillness versus push, how dialogue lands under pressure, and whether the character feels inhabited even in quiet beats. Given the current radar emphasis on Emotional Range & Depth and Character Believability, prioritize scenes (or stretches of scenes) where that quality is most exposed — not plot shock, but delivery, physical choice, and listening.
