Unreleased titles stay behind Coming soon until release day — because a rating without a performance is just branding. Trailers lie. Marketing lies harder. Early “scores” poison the board before craft exists.
What the gate protects
- No trailer-based inflation for Holland/Zendaya before Brand New Day unlocks
- No prestige hype laundering for films you have not seen
- A clean unlock moment when the acting is actually fair game
What you can do instead
Rate the turns that already exist. Build Chalamet’s Paul on Dune: Part Two. Build Holland’s prior Peters if you want franchise context. Build Zendaya’s Tashi / Chani work if you want her control vocabulary.
When a title unlocks, the argument can start with receipts instead of hype. That is not gatekeeping for sport. That is how a scoreboard stays honest.
