A scene-stealer is a supporting performance that behaves like a lead in your memory.
ActorRating’s tiers exist so those turns can be found without pretending every credited extra is the same discovery problem.
Steal vs inflate
Not every loud entrance is a steal. A real scene-stealer rearranges what the movie is about while you are still watching — Pitt’s Tyler, Simmons’ Fletcher, Bardem’s Chigurh energy. The billing may say supporting. Your nervous system files an appeal.
How to score them
Rate the turn on its own page. Do not average it into the lead out of guilt. Do not punish it for “taking over” — that is often the craft succeeding.
If a supporting 9 sits next to a lead 6 in the same film, the scoreboard is doing journalism.
